Some shirts start conversations. This one starts a diplomatic incident at the cookout.

The Red Satan tee takes a genuinely unhinged Iranian propaganda poster from the early ’80s and lets it loose where it belongs: on your chest, at Target, while you pretend you’re just here for paper towels. Up top: شیطان سرخ — “Red Satan.” Down below: a red-and-black demon face, tongue out, teeth bared, Soviet hammer and sickle tucked into the nightmare like history’s most aggressive band tee crossover.

The joke is not subtle because the Cold War was not subtle. Revolutionary Iran had already called America the Great Satan, then looked east, saw Soviet influence and communist factions circling the block, and went, “Yeah, fuck that guy too.” Neither East nor West. Just an absolutely feral poster that borrowed the visual language of Western rock ’n’ roll to roast communism. Political messaging used to have better art direction and way less HR.

Wear it when someone at the party says politics used to be less weird. Wear it to brunch, a record store, family dinner, or casual Friday if your office has given up on pretending the handbook means anything. Expect Uncle Randy to ask if it’s KISS. Tell him it’s worse: context.

This is for people who enjoy historical footnotes, bad ideas with great graphics, and making strangers briefly wonder whether they should Google you. They should. Let them do the homework.
